Tuesday Trench Truth By the time Bobby arrived, the football game had already started. "Why are you so late?" asked his friend.
"I couldn't decide between going to church and going to the football game, so I tossed a coin," said Bobby. "But that shouldn't have taken too long." said the friend. "Well, I had to toss it 35 times." What a comfort to know that God continues to pursue us, even when we are pursuing other things. Taken from http://www.jokesclean.com/ChristianJokes Smilin…. Monday Message Most of us, if we’re honest, have sought the approval and acceptance of another. After all, those are two God-given desires, right? What if we were to live like we believe God has accepted us right where we are at? Would live look/be different for you?
Thanks for joining us for Monday’s Message with Abigail Rice and Trench Classes. Today’s poem is a good reminder of how easily it is to slip down that slippery slope of acceptance and approval from others and the destruction that can bring. We desire this perfection This ultimate connection To feel seen To feel loved To be known So we search For meaning For purpose For growth When beneath it all The roots in the dirt Are rotting away As we soak up self-worth and we forget we are not worthy We are not deserving Yet, our Saviour and our King Thinks the world of you and me He put on our flesh and walked in our mess Just so we can know & believe That His love for us far exceeds The feeling of worth from this momentary earth Our lives so short Our breath so quick Moments go by And we don’t even realize it Always on this search Looking for worth But darling the truth is We are nothing but dirt Our sins so big Our hearts so fragile They snap like a twig Yet, we hold on like a branch blowing in the wind Because I think we all hope for something bigger than this An Eden An Israel A place where we can feel The sun on our face The soft grass in our tows Where all we can see is rows upon rows Of flowers that have bloomed From those seeds He helped grow All because His love is so surreal A Heavenly King That believes in you and me Despite our unworthiness His love for us outweighs the Universe “Stop regarding man, whose breath [of life] is in his nostrils [for so little time]; For why should he be esteemed?” - Isaiah 2:22 “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, But we will remember and trust in the name of the LORD our God.” - Psalm 20:7 ~Abigail Rice Faith-Filled Friday ~Love Letter~
My child, even in the midst of all these things, you triumph over them all, for I have made you to be more than a conqueror, and My love is your glorious victory over everything!. Doesn't it excite you that I have made you more than a conqueror? Because of My great love, you are able to walk through anything. Even when it feels like you are in a fiery furnace, I am there with you. My love surrounds you. Don't believe the lies that you're a failure or that you're not doing a good job. Or the lie you should give up because you just can't seem to make it. Lies, all lies! Listen to Me, I am proud of you right where you're at and we are doing this life together. Stop trying to be perfect, that's My job. Concentrate on loving Me and bring Me into all that you're doing and I will help you, then you don't have to feel alone. That's a great deal. If you are still trying to have your own way and do My will, you'll find the road impossible. You can only serve one master and we both know how that turned out for you. Beloved, let My love be your overcoming victory, every time. ~DebraDolce Thursday Trench Truth Thanks for joining me for Thursday’s Trench Truth.

Love, Kim-Evinda Wednesday Word Have you ever caught yourself focusing on what’s wrong in your life, instead of what’s right? Or how about what’s wrong about another person and their actions and attitudes, especially as they pertain to you? Why does it seem to be so much easier to focus on what’s wrong instead of what’s right?
Thanks for joining us for Wednesday’s Word with Kim-Evinda and Trench Classes United. Oh, how true it is to be blinded by what’s wrong and not be able to see what’s right. Come on in for a perspective on this common issue. I don’t know about you but sometimes I can really be a negative Nelly. Funny, just writing about this is taking me back to when my mom used to call me Pollyanna! There were times she said it sarcastically – that was in our time of Exodus which was when I was 12 all the way to 49 -- but I’ll never forget the time she said it while she was in the hospital, and I was coming to see her every day. I was telling her she had to get better so we could spend time together when she got out, and she smiled the sweetest smile – something I had rarely seen – and said, “You are such a Pollyanna.” It caused me to stop what I was doing and look at her to confirm she was really being sweet…she was. It wasn’t until later that I looked it up and it made me weep and I do mean weep. My tears turned on like a faucet full blast and humility washed me clean of all the years where I had misunderstood her, focused on the burden of our broken relationship. See, the definition for a Pollyanna is “an excessively cheerful or optimistic person”! I never did get to discuss that with her because she never did make it out of the hospital, but, oh, how happy I was to be sad…for God had finally made right what was wrong all those years. God had brought blessing out of the burden, but without the burden, how could I realize the blessing? During this difficult season, let me just say that I am having a difficult time being anyone’s Pollyanna! And yet, when I look back and see how far I’ve come from the shattering of my life almost a year ago, I can appreciate the blessing of my Heavenly Father, holding me, healing me, and helping me to continue moving forward, with me every step of the way. Whenever I want to focus on the burden, Philippians 4:8 pulls me back to staying in my own lane, in other words, keeping my heart clean of resentments by focusing on MY relationship with Abba. While God does not call us to be doormats for ANYONE, He does call us to get our focus on what is right by meditating on things that are true, noble and just – which may not describe the situation or the difficult person you are dealing with but there is ONE who is all of these things. He calls us to mediate on anything that is praiseworthy, on things of any virtue. While my situation is not something praiseworthy, the blessings that have come from the painful burden are. Friend, when we honestly seek our hearts and do this, we can honestly come up with something of virtue, something that is praiseworthy. This God-breathed command spoken to us through Paul reminds us to quit picking apart and looking for all that is wrong, for when we do focus on what is right, the guarantee we have is we will be changed! How about you; are you a negative Nelly or a Pollyanna? Are you focusing on the burden without looking at all the blessings? Reminded of and gripped by His grace, Kim-Evinda Tuesday Trench Truth A lady goes to the doctor and complains that her husband is losing interest in sex. They talk for a few moments and the doctor gives her a pill but warns her that it's still experimental. We’re finding the results are better when you put it into mashed potatoes at dinner.
She thanks him, takes the prescription and goes on her way. That night, she does what the doctor instructed her to do. About a week later, she’s back at the doctor, where she says, "Doc, the pill worked great! I put it in the potatoes just like you said! It wasn't five minutes later that he jumped up, raked all the food and dishes onto the floor, grabbed me, ripped all my clothes off, and ravaged me right there on the table!" The doctor says, "I’m sorry, we didn’t realize the pill was that strong! My office will be glad to pay for any damages." "Nah," she says, "that's okay. We're never going back to that restaurant anyway." Hey, during this time of uncertainty, connection is key!!!! And laughter, well that just makes connection easier. Plan on joining us for our annual fundraiser, A Night of Laughter with Squeaky Clean Comedy THIS Saturday at the Yucaipa Elks Lodge. For more information go to www.trenchclassesunited.com/events Hope to see you there and laugh with you Kim-Evinda Monday Message Most of us, if not all of us, have had seasons where life just felt like it was happening too hard with too many unknowns. What if we were to look at these seasons as refining and purifying? Would we gain a different perspective, perhaps one on the wings of an eagle? Or do we slither on the ground like a scary critter? Without sorrow, how would we know joy? Without sickness and suffering, how would we appreciate health?
Thanks for joining us for Monday’s Message with Abigail Rice & Trench Classes United. The eagle and the snake The give and the take Holding together my bones The sinews of my flesh Leaving me in unrest This feeling of emptiness and I beg Lord, fill this void Let my purpose be employed I have nothing to show Nothing to give Can there be joy in sorrow Some strength I may borrow Or must I be weak Mild and meek To overcome this mind disease A slow burn The furnace turned all the way up Until I can no longer take it I can no longer run The heat is rising It’s all too much Yet, I stand firm Because my soul still yearns To know what is on the other side Of this slow, steady burn So like a snake I’ll slither low Crawling on my belly Until He tells me to go To rise up and take flight Soaring on the wings of eagles By all His power By all His might I must have faith now That all will be alright If I can just make it Through one more Long, lonesome night “But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] shall change and renew their strength and power; they shall lift their wings and mount up [close to God] as eagles [mount up to the sun]; they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint or become tired.” - Isaiah 40:31 ~Abigail Rice Faith-filled Friday Have you ever had a stain you couldn’t get out, no matter what you tried or how hard you scrubbed? There is one Thing that no matter what the stain, can wash it clean.
Thanks for joining us for Faith-Filled Friday with Debra Dolce and Trench Classes United. What a great reminder of all the purposes the Word of God can accomplish. Love Letter~ My child, your enemies have prepared a trap for you! Can't you see them hiding in their place of darkness and shadows? They're set against all those who live upright lives. My Word teaches you about the authority you have as a believer. I teach you to use My name and how to apply My ways. All this is in the Scriptures, so study My Word and don't slow down so that you will gain understanding. There is so much knowledge in My Word: from living a successful life, to how to overcome obstacles, and how to defeat the enemy. My Word will help you to gain strength and wisdom for your daily walk. There is no other book with this guarantee! My Word will change the way you see things, the way you think, your attitude and actions. Who but God can do all these things for you? In My Love Letters, there is so much more. I am so rich in mercy, so full of lovingkindness. Come, taste and see that I am good. My Word will help you fight your enemy and fight you must. You never want to stop but just get stronger at being my warrior. Beloved, every believer has to fight, so grab your sword of the Spirit and prepare for battle. ~DebraDolce Thursday Trench Truth Isn’t it funny how we push, sweep or bury past hurts to an undisclosed place in our minds, and those who caused them too!
Oh, friends, unresolved resentments can lead to a road of self-destruction. Join us to learn how to live forgiven and forgiving! https://www.facebook.com/events/1070940690487874 Love, Kim-Evinda Wednesday Word She sat still, as was her custom to do every morning before doing anything else. The music tugged at her heart, massaging it gently, softening the soul. Her eyes welled up as she revisited the news from the day before from one of her dearest friends.
Thank you for joining us today for Wednesday’s Word with Kim-Evinda and Trench Classes United. What do we do when we get bad news? Does it concern us, or do we allow it to consume us? Today’s blog will share the difference. “Lord, I know, from experience, that YOU use ALL things, so I’m asking you to reveal the good from this one sooner than later.” The “C” word (not COVID) had struck again, too close to home with this friend and his family. Psalm 138:8: The Lord will perfect that which concerns me. No matter what situation you or I find ourselves in, this verse is a powerful source of encouragement. It can be a life preserver amid the sea, an anchor for our souls. What is so sovereign about this verse is it speaks to us differently EVERY time we read it. Why or how? Because life keeps happening and with life comes different storms of trials and circumstances. Friend, in this global time of uncertainty, may I encourage you to look at this verse, read it, then say it aloud again and again. I guarantee you that when you do this and allow it to soak into your soul, it will bloom in your life: Psalm 138:8: The Lord will perfect that which concerns me. Now put the “thing that concerns you” in that portion of scripture. I’ll go first: The Lord will perfect my friend’s family thru this bio duct cancer… Here’s the condition to the promise: Does it concern us or consume us? If it’s consuming us, then we’re not trusting Him to perfect whatever it is that is concerning. What is the “thing that concerns” you? Is it finances, your job, and all the other monetary things that are being threatened by this global pandemic? What if we were to live like we believed the words in this promise? Well, I can tell you by experience that He will use it to perfect you in the process to prepare you for the promise, not allowing ourselves to be consumed by that which concerns us. Concerned but not consumed, Kim-Evinda |
