When someone tells you they “love” you, how does it make you feel?

Thanks for joining us for Faith-Filled Friday with Debra Dolce and Trench Classes United. Today’s Love Letter is a great reminder that to find His love ends the pursuit of others’ love.

~Love Letter~

My nurturing love is tender and gentle. I am slow to get angry yet so swift to show My faithful love. I am full of abounding grace and truth. This is everything you need!

So many are trying to find love only to run into those that hate. Those who don't know Me are filled with hate. It may seem like it's natural to hate but that's the enemy's work. I desire that you are filled with love, My love.

Meditate on these Words and see how all My love can be yours as you open yourself to Me. My nurturing love is tender and gentle. I am slow to get angry and yet swift to show My faithful love. As you come to discover My ways, as you discover the things in your own life that you must release and even walk away from, you will see My love and grace begin to operate in your life.

I am full of abounding grace and great truth. How exciting it is that as you come to Me, you get to experience all of the things that I am. Learn of My attributes so you will know Me. When things come to you or things happen you can look at them and distinguish whether it's from Me or from the enemy.

Many blame Me for the bad that happens in their life, but this is not right. My Word says that every good and perfect gift comes from above, which is Me. I am not a task master; nor do I take the power of choice away from anyone.

When you learn My Word then you are able to see where things really come from. Then you can give Me praise when you recognize that I bring good things to you. You will know what to pray against when things come against you and you know that it's not Me. When bad things come to you, pray against those.

Beloved, when you seek My love with all your heart, your pursuit of others’ love will end.

In my SOS (Season of Singleness) I am learning just how progressively sexual our culture is. Yes, today’s truth is about sex!

Being single at any age is no easy feat, especially in an ever-growing progressively sexual culture. When I ask men (names anonymous) what they think the Bible says about sex, I’ve heard some astounding opinions and thoughts, from, well the Bible is outdated to, well, yeah, it says to save yourself for marriage, but you’ve already been married, so…”

God, in His Sovereignty, confirmed thru a message within days of hearing these thoughts His why for creating sex and the how/why of sex:

1. For physical comfort: outside of the covenant of marriage it brings physical diseases.
2. For emotional intimacy and security: outside the covenant of marriage, it brings emotional insecurity.
3. For Spiritual union: outside of the covenant of marriage it brings spiritual confusion.

His Word says it; I believe it, and if I believe it, I have to live it!

Can I encourage you friend to not treat the Bible as irrelevant in such a relevant subject as your sex life?

Every time I read this poem which I wrote several years ago, I can’t help but smile. I pray it does the same for you while keeping your perspective thankful. Enjoy and, please, enjoy this season of Thanksgiving which will usher in the true meaning of all holidays.

Twas the night before Thanksgiving all through the house
Every creature was stirring, including the mouse
Everyone was working on all of the fixings
The noise and smells were coming from the kitchen
 
The children were busy with their tablets and toys
Captured in their games, they made not a noise
While the adults laughed and worked all collectively
What a beautiful sight it was for any heart to see
 
When all of a sudden there arose such a clatter
Mom ran to the kitchen to see what was the matter
She looked to the left and she looked to the right
She couldn’t believe what was in plain sight
 
There was broken glass from her favorite platter
And at first glance, she knew it didn’t matter
Everyone was frozen, waiting for her reaction
But she didn’t give the devil that satisfaction
 
The counters were a mess, preparations everywhere
It looked as though a tornado had just gone thru there
The turkey had flown from the platter to the floor
The poor thing looked like it just couldn’t take no more
 
The stove was a disaster waiting to happen
full of pots and pans, handles overlapping
The old mom would have immediately gotten on her broom
And painted the atmosphere with a bit of doom and gloom
 
But the new and improved mom was no longer that way
For she had learned the true meaning of Thanksgiving Day
She stared at each of them and the mess they surrounded
Knowing her response would leave them astounded
 
Now sons, now daughters, in-laws and friends like family
Is this ever a sight for the eyes of my heart to see?
More than the chaos, the mess on the floor
The memories we’re making are worth so much more
 
So grab a rag, and a dishtowel too
Here’s one for each and every one of you
Let’s work together in cleaning up this mess
It will only take a few minutes or less
 
Pick up the turkey, and we’ll wash him off
We’ll stuff him but good and put him in the trough
We’ll baste him all over, and get him ready to eat
No one will ever know we stepped on his feet
 
And when tomorrow comes and we gather for the meal
We’ll be able to discern what matters and what’s real
Faith, family, friends, love and laughter
Help to bring us all the happily ever after
 
I looked to each of them with tears in my eyes
And said something I had just realized
Oh, why can’t it be Thanksgiving every day?
Loving each other in a Christ-like way
 
Patience, self-control, love and joy too
Are there for the asking for each of you
We don’t have to wait for a holiday to see
That Christ’s greatest gift is that of family

Have you ever tried to withdrawal from your bank account only to find out you didn’t have the funds?

I’m currently in a study called Pursuing More of Jesus by Anne Graham Lotz and wow, there are so many bullseye truths in it that cause me to want to pursue more of Him so I can be more like Him.

The most recent was this truth about incompatibility, in other words, loving that unlovable. The incredibly simple truth is Jesus gives us the key that unlocks the mystery of HOW to be compatible with the incompatible: When my relationship with Jesus is the priority of my life, I am immersed in His love so I can love…even when they are unlovable.

You can’t give what you’re not receiving. Can I encourage you today, immerse yourself in His love so you can extend love to the incompatible and be found compatible.

This night
This day
This morning
I pray
 
That when you feel like you can no longer take this
That you just can’t break this
Remember you were created for this
 
Soldier
Daughter
Mother
With a heart full of love
and a laugh like no other
 
Your soul is on fire
For it’s one true desire
 
But the flesh
It bites back
With every enemy attack
 
How to unpack?
Or even fathom
Or begin
To feel like you have the upper hand?
 
When no one is around that seems to understand
How can you swallow that pill
Not knowing who you are
Or how to even feel?
 
The confusion is real
The delusion to heal
But when His Word is your meal
You lick the crumbs off the plate
Hoping that this
Is not just a momentary bliss
and He reminds you of this
 
“Nations will come to your light
and kings to the brightness of your dawn” - (Isaiah 60:3)
Darling, you must go on
The cold winds may bite your face
But this is not your fate
 
To feel so small
Like you can’t go on
Darling you must remove the object of your lust
Your desire to know
and always be in control
Is taking a toll
As you get hit
Blow after blow
Remember and know
I called you to this
I will pull you out of this thick
Let go of your grip
and remember before all
you were made for this…

~Love Letter~

Generosity brings prosperity, but withholding from charity brings poverty. What a good Word for you to think on. So many associate prosperity with money but that's not always the case. Yes, sometimes it is but it's more about your heart's posture. It's about giving yourself, the giving of your time and energy. It's about the acts of kindness because your heart is moved with compassion.

There are places in the Scriptures that talk about Me being moved with compassion. Look these up so you can see the miracles that were done because I was moved with compassion.

When your hand is closed into a fist, what can you receive? I don't wrestle your hand open so I can bless you, this would be absurd. I can only give to those who are open and ready to receive. Worship Me with open hands and be ready to receive. Be in awe when I come and pour out upon you what I have for you. I do bless you financially and when I do remember to bless those I put on your heart to bless.

I'm the only one that knows the prayers of this that are hurting and if I desire to use you, then be sensitive to My voice. Many times you are surprised when I use you because you were just going along your way not really paying attention and then out of your kindness you bless, only to find out it was Me moving in you. This is an exciting time. I love to turn your heart in a direction you didn't even think about.

But when you clinch your fist and nothing can move through you, you become stuck and your resources dry up; this is not a good place to be. Beloved, always be open to Me, always be generous so that you can be used by Me.

​I was reminded of this truth when reading “Clearing the Path” by Nathan Westwick. See, when we view God as someone out there or up there, versus with us, and within us, that mindset prevents us from feeling truly known, seen, and loved.

But when we remember He’s with us and in us, we will include Him in all of our decisions, desires and destinations via our prayer life. In other words, when we stay in contact with Him, consulting Him in all of our concerns, this will usher in hope and peace because we will know with our inner being that not only are we not alone, but we will live knowing He’s got everything that concerns us in His hands.

Can I encourage you to be intentional in your faith and watch it move from neutral or park to drive!

“How does one get there,” she wondered aloud. She felt a stirring to continue reading, knowing that He would provide the answer if she brought a willing heart to the table.

Matthew 5:3: “Bless-ed are the poor in spirit…” she stopped. She knew from feeding her faith for all these years that He wasn’t talking about anything monetarily. She began to write what He was speaking to her with so few words:

This has more meaning to me now; I used to think it had to do with the poor, the not-so lucky, but now I see so much more. It’s being willing to give when others would take; to love when others turn to hate. To not repay evil for evil. To stay in the process of healing is to be poor in spirit, trusting that He will right what’s been done wrong. This is the way to become part of the kingdom of heaven.

She sat there, thankful for the relief from her ongoing anger and confusion from events in her life over the last three+ years. Feasting at His table is where she would find her rest and her growth all at the same time.

Friend, can I encourage you in this upcoming busy season to feast at His table daily that you would be able to accomplish much without being stressed because you are blessed, and experience hope and joy independent of outward experiences. 😊

​The other day I was having a difficult conversation with someone very near and dear to me. We were talking about something of their past that still had them bound up, so to speak, preventing them from their full potential. It had been more than ten years since that season of poor choices and being rescued from self and while progress had been made, they needed to face this and make amends so as to walk in their purpose. 

They wholeheartedly agreed; however the struggle was visible. I literally could see the pain on their face as they contemplated what that looked like.

We took a break from that conversation and within moments, the Lord gave me today’s Life-Coaching Truth with reminders of my own painful choices as well as choices made by others that had hurt me so deeply.

As the truth seeped into my soul, I couldn’t help but smile for I truly have experienced that my past no longer hurts me but helps me and that’s healing!

We eventually make it to the cattle guard at the end of our drive where we cross over to the main paved road and the boys then decide they want to attempt to ride their bikes again

“So they can go fast” they say

However fast they think they may be going, it almost always involves multiple stops along the way with some sort of meltdown, tantrum, or what I call a “bike fight” when one decides the other has a better bike that he now wants to ride, and you get the picture…

It inevitably takes twice as long to get down the road and and we have to turn back to head home before we even get to our intended destination

With everyone including the bikes crammed into the stroller yet again...
We make our trek back to our gravel road to get home before the sun sets
Once we get to the cattle guard crossing
I tell the boys it’s time to ditch the bikes
& leave them at the gate for daddy to pick up on his way in
 And they have to walk the rest of the way back home
(because honestly there is no way I can push that heavy load up the rocky hill...)
The sun is now setting
We are all walking together (minus the little one in the stroller)
My oldest, Amos, is now gathering “pretty rocks” as we walk
And Azariah joins him
The setting is much more of peace and curiosity
And it is then I realize this whole time God has been showing me
This scenario is a lot like my walk with Him…
I oftentimes fight back
I want to do things my own way
Take my own vehicle down the rocky road
Even though I am constantly reminded of my preferred vehicle of choice
The vehicles of this world
Usually leave me high and dry
And I need a lift from God
And He always scoops me in
Placing me in His stroller
As I insist on cramming myself and all my baggage in
I feel safe
I feel loved
And when the rocky road subsides
I jump out
With my baggage in tow
Only to go back to my old ways
to get back on my own bike
Because I think I know this paved road will be easy
And even with my baggage I can still go fast…
That never lasts
I am the one ending up in a meltdown
A tantrum
Filled with confusion
And doubt
Only to realize
It’s my own baggage stopping me from getting to my destination
And it is only once I finally listen
And let go
And leave my bike full of baggage at the end of the road
I now get to actually walk with God
I can finally breathe
& take it all in...
The sun as it sets
The pretty rocks along the road
And it's in that moment I know
My Father knows best
And in order to get through this test
I must walk with Him
Remembering all the things He has said
All the baggage He has stripped away
Has to be left in the past
It will only slow me down
And this road I am on now
May still be rocky
But as long as I am walking
Next to my Heavenly Father
I am reminded that I am HIS daughter
And I can simply pick up the rocks
Admiring the beauty of the lessons
And what the real journey is
On this rocky dirt road
That will lead me back home

"And He told them many things in parables (stories by way of illustration and comparison), saying, A sower went out to sow.

And as he sowed, some seeds fell by the roadside, and the birds came and ate them up.

Other seeds fell on rocky ground, where they did not have much soil; and at once they sprang up, because they had no depth of soil.

But when the sun rose, they were scorched, and because they had no root, they dried up and withered away.

Other seeds fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them out.
Other seeds fell on good soil, and yielded grain—some a hundred times as much as was sown, some sixty times as much, and some thirty.

He who has ears [to hear], let him be listening and let him consider and perceive and comprehend by hearing.

Then the disciples came to Him and said, Why do You speak to them in parables?
And He replied to them, To you it has been given to know the secrets and mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.

For whoever has [spiritual knowledge], to him will more be given and he will be furnished richly so that he will have abundance; but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away.

This is the reason that I speak to them in parables: because having the power of seeing, they do not see; and having the power of hearing, they do not hear, nor do they grasp and understand.

In them indeed is the process of fulfillment of the prophecy of Isaiah, which says: You shall indeed hear and hear but never grasp and understand; and you shall indeed look and look but never see and perceive.

For this nation’s heart has grown gross (fat and dull), and their ears heavy and difficult of hearing, and their eyes have tightly closed, lest they see and perceive with their eyes, and hear and comprehend the sense with their ears, and grasp and understand with their heart, and turn and I should heal them.

But blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are your eyes because they do see, and your ears because they do hear.

Truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous men [men who were upright and in right standing with God] yearned to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

Listen then to the [meaning of the] parable of the sower:
While anyone is hearing the Word of the kingdom and does not grasp and comprehend it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the roadside represents.

As for what was sown on thin (rocky) soil, this is he who hears the Word and at once welcomes and accepts it with joy.

Yet it has no real root in him, but is temporary (inconstant, lasts but a little while); and when affliction or trouble or persecution comes on account of the Word, at once he is caused to stumble [he is repelled and begins to distrust and desert Him Whom he ought to trust and obey] and he falls away.

As for what was sown among thorns, this is he who hears the Word, but the cares of the world and the pleasure and delight and glamour and deceitfulness of riches choke and suffocate the Word, and it yields no fruit.

As for what was sown on good soil, this is he who hears the Word and grasps and comprehends it; he indeed bears fruit and yields in one case a hundred times as much as was sown, in another sixty times as much, and in another thirty." - Matthew 13:3-23
