He knows our NeedsWe’ve all heard the saying the more we have, the more we want. But what does it look like to experience contentment in times of scarcity or plenty? Thanks for joining us for Monday’s Message with Abigail Rice and Trench Classes United. Today’s poem is a great reminder that to stop and recognize the simple things will take us to higher ground. This morning as I lay I really didn’t want to wake To the cries of a newborn babe In a very hungry state I could have easily fed him and dozed back off to sleep But I decided to move my feet First thing Coffee and as I was making coffee
I heard the song of a bird I could not see Meandering out to my front porch Hoping I could spot Who was singing this sweet melody I took a moment to pause and sit and thank God For this moment of stillness For this quiet with Him A moment of bliss But still I had questions Wondering how long we would be in this mess How long we would live in what feels like constant stress From lack and set back After set back When really I should be thanking Him For providing for us Over and over again And He reminded me of this Like the Israelites in the wilderness Sending them meat Even more than their need Even when they complained Even when they walked in sinful ways Our God Gave But greed got in the way… A subtle reminder to always give thanks Under all circumstances Because God will provide and keep us safe Always As breakfast was cooking I caught my boys already outside In papa's yard Looking For the same song of the bird The melody they had heard Was that of a quail Reminding us Our God prevails Our God provides and his time Is always right So today Pause And give thanks Not because your life is aligned And perfect on all sides But because the song of the quail Reminds us that our God never fails “Now there went forth a wind from the Lord and it brought quail from the sea, and let them fall beside the camp, about a day’s journey on this side and a day’s journey on the other side, all around the camp and about two cubits deep on the surface of the ground. The people spent all day and all night and all the next day, and gathered the quail (he who gathered least gathered ten homers) and they spread them out for themselves all around the camp. While the meat was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, the anger of the Lord was kindled against the people, and the Lord struck the people with a very severe plague. So the name of that place was called Kibroth-hattaavah, because there they buried the people who had been greedy. From Kibroth-Hattaavah the people set out for Hazeroth, and they remained at Hazeroth.” - Numbers 11:31-35 #MondaysMessage #TrenchClassesUnited #HeKnowsOurNeeds #AbigailRice #LivingForgivenAndForgiving
