Our human condition can lead us astray; hold on to truth

Monday’s Message

We have but a mere, mortal life
and to die is to gain
But our desires catch up to us
and who are we to blame?
 
Mortals made of humanly flesh
Yet here we are on earth
Heaven sent
Yet our flesh begets
It wants
So it gets
 
not without the cost
Of one day suffering the loss
You may want to be the boss
You may desire to be 'the man'
But remember, dear darling
It is all in God's hands
 
So before we build up
Let us not press our luck
But search the ground for sinkholes and deep mud
For if you keep going you may get stuck
 
Fill in those divots
and check your heart
Are you truly ready to start?
Our Father will never depart
But a forewarning to take heed
Before you embark
 
Little by little
Brick by brick
Build upon a foundation that will stick
 
Where do your desires lay?
Are you building with stone
Or are you burning up hay?
 
Pause now, darling
Rest
Pray
 
Before you build up
A solid foundation you must lay
and your light will shine
Day after day
Until we come upon the final sun ray
