Don’t forget the spiritual piece in the puzzle of life ~Kim-Evinda She stopped journaling, allowing her heart and mind to be quiet, to be still…and finally the revelation came to her. Thanks for joining us for Wednesday’s Word with Kim-Evinda and Trench Classes United. How many of us go about our day leaving God on the “shelf” of our heart, versus inviting Him into the middle of it all? Today’s blog reminds us of a truthful principle that Jesus Himself spoke to Peter, and to us, all those years ago. She had read Luke 16:23 as part of a study but all week, it kept coming back to her with new meaning. Memories of disagreements long gone with her last marriage came to the surface of her mind. She smiled, remembering how they had used these powerful words to insult the other and to quash the disagreement: “Satan get behind me!” Today, these words served as a reminder that the enemy loves fighting. But that wasn’t the whole verse; only one part of it. It was the last part of it that caught her attention and held it all week, especially as she thought about interactions with others. She continued to read: “You are an offense to me for you are not mindful of the things of God but of men.”
Isn’t it true that so many of us base our thoughts, opinions, and decisions on what makes us happy, but what about the spiritual piece, the things, thoughts, and ways of God? It was like Jesus was speaking these words to her today, reminding her that she was on the right track and her heart was in the right place. They were like salve to her aching soul, beautiful weapons for her spiritual artillery as she continued in the journey of life and ministry. He reminded her that many are sent to divide, and even some closest to us, although unbeknownst to them. She must continue to include the spiritual piece of the puzzle in this season and to focus on the promises given for she knew that that would lead her to victory. How about you, friend, is there something happening in your life that needs you to be mindful of God’s perspective? Ask Him to reveal it to you and He will. It is in relationship with Him that we find strength for the journey, no matter what or who comes into it. Love, Kim-Evinda #WednesdaysWord #TrenchClassesUnited #PiecesOfThePuzzle #Perspective
