Wednesday's Word

To pray on your knees is to avoid being on the run all day.

​If there was anyone who had people pulling at Him, it was Jesus. So many wanted a piece of Him, and while Jesus didn’t have a “specific” place of prayer when He wanted to talk to His Father, He went to where there would be no interruptions.

Thanks for joining us for Wednesday’s Word with Kim-Evinda and Trench Classes United. No matter what happens in life, prayer bridges the gap. Today’s blog sheds some light on this.
 
Matthew 6:6 (NLT) says: “But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.”
 
Jesus Himself teaches us that we need to pray in a place where we won’t be interrupted, with the instruction to “shut the door behind you.” This instruction given by Jesus is a call to intimacy with God, just you and Him, without distractions. Have you ever longed to have an uninterrupted time with someone you love? When you shut the door to the possibility of interruptions, you make room to have an intimate conversation with God.
 
How would you describe your daily prayer practice? Where do you usually talk with God? Are your conversations with God intimate, without interruption? Where can you go in your home and shut the door to talk with God without distraction? Thank God for meeting you there and ask Him to lavish His presence upon you. 
 
Find a place in your home where you can literally shut the door, shutting out the noise of daily life, even if only for five to ten minutes. Begin to make this a daily habit to discover on a deeper level His desire to have an intimate conversation with you.
