Thursday’s Truthful HumorThere’s always time for a little giggle! Thanks for joining us for Thursday’s Truthful Humor where we pull truth from humor
An elderly lady lost her handbag in the bustle of Christmas shopping. It was found by an honest little boy and returned to her. Looking in her purse, she commented, "Hmmm.... That's funny. When I lost my bag there was a $20 bill in it. Now there are twenty $1 bills." The boy quickly replied, "That's right, lady. The last time I found a lady's purse, she didn't have any change for a reward." Hmm, kind of makes you wonder, huh? This is a great reminder to check our motives: why do we do what we do for others, especially this time of year? Oh, to give the gifts that can’t be bought…without expectation of something in return… For more giggles and encouragement, too, take a tour at www.trenchclassesunited.com and click on the blog. Wednesday’s WordShe read the words she had written years ago, feeling their truth even more so considering the current world reality, and she couldn’t help herself; she had to add just one more thought. When she was finished, she sensed the satisfaction knowing in her heart that, yes, change is coming, but these things remain. Thanks for joining us for Wednesday’s Word with Kim-Evinda and Trench Classes United. It is our prayer that the words of this blog remain carry you through this most celebrated season, and through any challenge you may encounter. The Gifts of the Season It’s not about the presents under the Christmas tree But the presence of love we feel from friends and family It’s not about the shopping that we feel we must do But about the gift that’s already been given to me and to you The gift is a gift that money can’t buy The birth and death of Christ; it’s for you and I It’s not about making a list and checking it twice And buying countless gifts for the naughty or nice The reason for this season isn’t about all the debt and stress But a time to offer special gifts such as patience and forgiveness Or maybe a gift of time for one whose time here is running out A meal for a family in need to encourage hope where there is doubt Or maybe someone needs a helping hand to accomplish a tedious chore Or a neighbor needs some company so they are not so lonely anymore Oh, if we would take the materialism out of this season And in its place remember that redemption is our reason Yes, these kinds of gifts come freely to those walking in His Spirit For they will outlive materialism, though the world doesn’t hear it No matter what the this year has brought We can still give the gifts that can’t be bought May love, joy, peace and patience, kindness, gentleness & self-control too Be the gifts you give away freely and part of all that you endeavor to do Love, Kim-Evinda Tuesday’s Truthful HumorTis the season to…it’s always time for a little giggle! I think Santa Claus is a woman.... Think about it. Christmas is a big, organized, warm, fuzzy, nurturing social deal, and I have a tough time believing a guy could possibly pull it all off! For starters, the vast majority of men don't even think about selecting gifts until Christmas Eve. Once at the mall, they always seem surprised to find only Ronco products, socket wrench sets, and mood rings left on the shelves. On this count alone, I'm convinced Santa is a woman. Surely, if he were a man, everyone in the universe would wake up Christmas morning to find a rotating musical Chia Pet under the tree, still in the bag. Another problem with a he-Santa is the reindeer issue. Even if the male Santa DID have reindeer, he'd still have transportation problems because he would inevitably get lost up there in the snow and clouds and then refuse to stop and ask for directions. Other reasons why Santa can't possibly be a man: - Men can't pack a bag. - Men would rather be dead than caught wearing red velvet. - Men don't answer their mail. - Men would refuse to allow their physique to be described even in jest as anything remotely resembling a "bowlful of jelly." - Men aren't interested in stockings unless somebody's wearing them. - Having to do the Ho Ho Ho thing would seriously inhibit their ability to pick up women. Oh, my, it’s true that most men don’t get as involved as we do, but ask any of them if they enjoy the benefits…isn’t that what matters most? In times of distress In whom do we find rest? When our souls are put to the test Do we look up & realize We are beyond blessed? Or do we look down As we wail and we drown In a seemingly endless sea Of turmoil & false press Are you truly doing your best? Or are you sulking on As the world screams 'yes' Yes, you should have it all No matter the cost No matter the reach But when the line between a want & a need A desire & a dream Fades away And we no longer radiate Does our world crumble & shatter As we slowly dissipate? Merging into the breeze Of a life so simple So at ease Yet, all we see is a constant taunt A voidless tease & when that dam breaks & the earth begins to shake All we've ever known In this so called American dream Quickly begins to release As we sat on empty promises Our hearts may long to But don't truly belong to Him Until you can say I gave it all away For His love For this day He has prepared my way & I desire no earthly gain Simply to be To breathe Life again carried on His feathers & under His wings No longer living in a false reality But in never ending praise As we dance and we sing Worshiping His name For Your love, my life will I bring “How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; And you give them to drink of the river of Your delights. For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light. O continue Your lovingkindness to the upright in heart. Let not the foot of pride come upon me, And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.” -Psalms 36:7-11 -Abigail Rice For more from our author, visit instagram.com/ajourney2life Faith-Filled FridayIn the midst of fear screaming, is it any wonder we have a hard time hearing the whispers of our faith. Today’s love letter is a great reminder that we must lean in to hear our faith, stand on our faith to drown out the fear and negativity surrounding us.
~Love Letter~ My dear one, quiet your heart in My Presence and pray. Keep hope alive as you long for Me to come through for you. And don't think for a moment that the wicked in their prosperity are better off than you. I am continually calling you to come and sit in My Presence, to quiet yourself before Me. There is so much I have for you as you practice listening. As you still yourself through My great love, you will receive what I desire to speak to your heart. And when you receive the Word of the Lord, it is yours to guard and protect. Do not let the enemy come and steal it, or corrupt it. Do not let others plant doubt from their "well-meaning" faithless vision. Keep My Words alive in your heart by praying into it, by declaring it. You have the power and the ability to speak life into every situation. Do not allow your dreams, your gifts to be corrupted. When you begin to do things your way and not seek Me for direction, then it becomes perverted. Beloved, guard your heart with all diligence, the Word says, for out of that flows the wellspring of life. ~DebraDolce Thursday’s Truthful HumorIt’s time for a little giggle with Thursday’s Trench truth where we pull truth from humor.
An atheist and his Christian friend were hanging out one day and the atheist complained to his friend, almost as if he were resentful. He said: "You Christians have your special holidays, such as Christmas and Easter. Jews celebrate their national holidays, such as Passover and Yom Kippur. But we atheists have no recognized national holidays. It's unfair discrimination." His Christian friend replied matter-of-factly, "Why don't you celebrate April first?" Oh, my with the battle of good and evil going on right before our eyes, how can one not recognize the reality of the necessity of a Loving God, A Higher Power, a Sovereign Savior…yes, this is the time to check what you believe…without resentments. Humor taken from www.Christiansunite.com Wednesday’s WordThe words of the worship song did what the coffee hadn’t quite accomplished: woke her up, her mind and her heart. Thanks for joining us for Wednesday’s Word with Trench Classes United and Kim-Evinda. “I just want to move your heart, caught up in your presence”…the words sparked with the realization that for a while now, when she’d come to her quiet time, she had come seeking to be comforted, to have questions answered, to be free from her current season full of growing pains, both emotionally and spiritually, not to move His heart. She had come to take, not give. Somewhere, and she knew where and when, she had strayed from true worship. The realization washed with a sweet conviction, not condemnation. She knew this because if it was condemnation, she would have stayed focused on the wrong committed versus the One who makes it right. No, the truth rendered her soul thankful, humbled and she was able to sit in peace, calm and thankfulness despite the season she’d been in for nearly two years. When this truth settled into her soul, she heard the echo of her counselor’s voice from just the night before. He had made a statement that was really a question and it was so profoundly validating: “one of the toughest questions to answer on a spiritual level is how to keep your rest, your peace in a storm such as this. When you find the answer, let me know.” She smiled realizing that not only had Abba lifted her gaze out of her own heart and back into His, but He had been kind enough to give her the answer to this very question about finding peace in a storm, finding that undeniable rest in chaos. She could hardly wait to text him and share her Abba-given answer. Friend, can I lovingly encourage you when you come to meet with Abba each day, come with an attitude of true worship, which is to give, not take, for then you shall receive. Lovingly, Kim-Evinda Tuesday's Truthful HumorThanks for joining us to get your giggle on and a little truth, too! 😊
A Jewish lady named Mrs. Rosenberg was stranded late one night at a fashionable resort - one that did not admit Jews. It was late at night and when she went in and spoke to the person at the front desk, the clerk looked down at his book and said, "Sorry, no room. The hotel is full." The Jewish lady said, "But your sign says that you have vacancies." The desk clerk stammered and then said curtly, "You know that we do not admit Jews. Now if you will try the other side of town..." Mrs. Rosenberg became noticeably irritated and said, "I'll have you know I converted to your religion." The desk clerk said, "Oh, yeah, let me give you a little test. How was Jesus born?" Mrs. Rosenberg replied, "He was born to a virgin named Mary in a little town called Bethlehem." "Very good," replied the hotel clerk. "Tell me more." Mrs. Rosenberg replied, "He was born in a manger." "That's right," said the hotel clerk. "And why was he born in a manger?" Mrs. Rosenberg said loudly, "Because a jerk like you in the hotel wouldn't give a Jewish lady a room for the night!" Oh my goodness, prejudices of any kind are not of God for His Word said that He was born, lived, died and rose again that we all could be permitted into the greatest room ever imagined, heaven😊 For more encouragement, take a tour at www.trenchclassesunited.com and check out our upcoming relationship class! Kim-Evinda Monday’s MessageJust as we trust
A wooden spoon not to rust To stir the pot And to stop the water from spilling out over the top We trust what we can see What we feel Between you and me Emotions that run deep Flare up And flame out Sometimes we scream Sometimes we shout Wonder in doubt What this life is all about And when the tried and the true Become the very few Who am I to the likes of You? A speck on this earth A mere piece of dirt And if I could trace my end back to my birth Maybe then I would see my worth But for now I walk blindly As You stand right beside me I search Yet can't find any Any reason to not feel defiantly Confronting the demons that howl As they roam and they prowl And all I can do is simply lay down Curl up and bow For this battle is trying me But I fight for the likes of me For the ones that go in front of And for those right behind me Because I know I have it I can feel it inside of me To keep going blindly Unknowing What the future holds As His plan unfolds But I know what is mine And that when it is time He will draw me near As I gird up my loins And I walk with no fear. "Whether Paul of Apollos or Cephas, or The universe or life or death, or the Immediate and threatening present or the subsequent and uncertain] future - All are yours, and you are Christ's, and Christ is God's." -1 Corinthians 3:22-23 -Abigail Rice For more from our author, check out instagram.com/ajourney2life Faith-Filled FridayHow many times have you wondered why distractions interfere with precious moments, pivotal decisions, studying or even worshipping? And then you’re surrounded in a pool of frustration and so far your original focus.
Welcome to Faith-filled Friday with Debra Dolce and Trench Classes United. Today’s love letter is a great reminder that we do have the choice to choose our thoughts. Love Letter~ My chosen one, you can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes Me and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of Me. You can capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to Me, the Anointed One. This is how you keep your mind stayed on Me. You have the ability to take thoughts captive and not let them rule you or your life. Isn't that exciting? It is going to be work; you must pay attention and not allow your mind to wander where it will, for that produces a fantasy world. This is where the enemy would desire to get in and cause havoc. You must be diligent; you must be steadfast and unwavering. Remember the enemy is always looking for someone he can devour. Stay in My Word and in prayer and protect your mind. Come and spend time with Me and let Me be the One to speak life into you. Let the struggles you have be no more because you are believing Me and stepping into Me, into truth. Struggles come from holding back. Be careful what you hold back from Me. Beloved. Remember I am the way, to all you need or desire. ~DebraDolce |
