When a good thing comes about
It’s no coincidence the devil tries to shut it down
Shut the light out
And make you feel so full of doubt
All encompassing
Like you just can't break the bout
Intense
You slip
Miss the mark
Feel lost at heart
Lost at sea
With no one there listening to your silent screams
Of pain and infidelity
Wondering if there is more to this thing called Christianity
Because right now, your ship is sinking
Deep
Into this world so full of toxicity
Lord, are you listening?
I thought you had a plan
Now I just don't understand
How something so good
A desire so pure
Could be shot down
Not withstood
Lord, help me understand
How to fight these demons in my head
This gnawing at my feet
Give me peace when I cannot sleep
Let me rest my head in Your mighty hands
Knowing that in the end
This was always Your plan
To call out to You
To lean on You
Have faith in You
That You will see this through
The naysayers will say what they want to say
But in the end it is your power that will lead us to the break of day
In Your Son's name I pray
Lord, please give me the strength.
