Wednesdays WOW Whew, it’s that time of the year where we’re checking our list, checking it twice, trying to determine who is naughty; who’s nice and while we’re at it, cooking, cleaning, planning, preparing, shopping…and anything else you can think of to add to the list…but why? Thanks for joining me for Wednesday’s Word with Trench Classes United and Evinda Lepins. Why do we do what we do around the holidays? Nowhere in scripture does it say we are to make ourselves crazy and imbalanced with a to-do list that wraps around our house and down our driveways. But what He does say is to “be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain…” (1st Corinthians 15:58) And I’d be remis if I didn’t remind myself that whatever I do (whoever I shop for) I need to do it unto the glory of God (1stCorinthians 10:31) I made a decision several years ago that if I wasn’t able to see the Lord in the things I was doing as a way to prepare for the holidays in the name of celebrating HIM, then I wasn’t about to do them. He doesn’t want us pushing ourselves to a level of teetering on the ledge of craziness, and tottering on the verge of a financial crisis…all in the name of celebrating His birth! To determine why you do what you do for who you do it, ask yourself these simple questions: 1. Why am I doing what I’m doing; Is it to bless or boast? 2. Why am I shopping for whom I am shopping? Is it to bless or to boast? The only way we can abound in the work of the Lord is to stay plugged in to the Lord; it is then we will be able to determine why we do what we do…especially around this time of the year. So as we enter the most wonderful time of the year, may we remember to invite Him to whatever we do to celebrate Him in the name of Christmas. Unto Him, Evinda

Mondays Message Come as you are
Accepting His grace But don’t leave this place Without realizing the challenges you will face Be equipped Be ready This life is unsteady The arrows They’ll shoot But your shield Will not move The Spirit inside you is here to guide you Standing in front of and behind you While the enemy He lies to you Telling you You are unworthy You are weak Feet unsteady But you put on the shoes of peace and your mind is at ease The enemy, he trembles at his knees Because you believe Believe in something bigger Believe you are a winner A child of God With faith so strong You know exactly where you belong So come as you are But don’t leave as you are Put on the full armor of God For this journey is lifelong “Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” |
