Thursday’s Truthful HumorThanks for joining us for Thursday’s Truthful Humor we pull truth from a bit of humor.
For the umpteenth time Mrs. Youngston came to her pastor to tell him, "I'm so scared! Joe says he's going to kill me if I continue to come to your church." "Yes, yes, my child," replied the pastor, more than a little tired of hearing this over and over. "I will continue to pray for you, Mrs. Youngston. Have faith - the Lord will watch over you." "Oh yes, he has kept me safe thus far, only....." "Only what, my child?" "Well, now he says if I keep coming to your church, he's going to kill YOU!" "Well, now," said the pastor, "Perhaps it's time to check out that little church on the other side of town." Ahh, isn’t it so true that it’s so easy to believe when it’s comfortable but true faith takes us out of our “comfort” zone! Wednesday’s Word![]() As he read the verses for the ADVENT word that day, a light turned on in her soul, and her brain, too, illuminating understanding to guide her through what was to come. Thanks for joining us for the final Wednesday’s Word for this year with Kim-Evinda and Trench Classes United. Our hope is that her blog will help shed some light on whatever is going on or will go on that threatens to send you to a dark place. He had read the devotional and she read the scriptures. The Advent word for that day was love…such a deep subject but it began correctly: love is not “dutiful,” but voluntary, and God, who sent His Son voluntarily to save each one of us was the ultimate example of love. The verses continued to confirm what she already knew, and yet, there’s no such thing as being able to grasp and hold this kind of love for it is uncontainable. Every verse they read together just reinforced and continued to illuminate a new level of love of God, from God and about God. There were two verses that shed more light and a deeper level of His love: Proverbs 17:17 which says “A friend loves at all times and a brother is born for adversity.” 1John 4:7-21 repeated this principle, that whoever claims to love God must also love his brother. She wondered aloud, “Why is a ‘brother’ born for adversity?” He didn’t understand either so they continued to read and study in search of answers to this mystery. And then they discovered some powerful truths that not only reinforced His love for them but also shed light on this truth: Without God’s love, we can’t love as He’s called us to love our “brothers.” Friends, God isn’t just talking about sibling rivalry – although knowing He understands this reinforces yet again another level of His love for us – and he’s not just speaking about a brother/sister in Christ. God is referencing the term “brother’ to mean relationships in general, and we all know that some relationships bring with them adversity. Maybe you look at adversity negatively but what if we allowed that adversity to grow us, not defeat us? Romans 8:28 says He uses all things…let’s put “adversity” in there to bring this home: And we know that all adversities God works for the good of those who…love HIM… As we close out this year and enter 2021 perhaps we can take with us a fresh perspective when it comes to “brother” and “adversity” and allow those two to sharpen us, refine us, cut away anything that takes us away from “loving our brother.” Then 2021 is guaranteed to be a better year. Thoughtfully, Kim-Evinda Tuesday's Truthful HumorI think this is fantastic, I just love the guy's answer, and the interpretation for the word BIBLE. Enjoy and pass it on.
If you're spiritually alive, you're going to love this! If you're spiritually dead, you won't want to read it. If you're spiritually curious, there is still hope! A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday. He wrote: "I've gone for 30 years now, and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons, but for the life of me, I can't remember a single one of them. So, I think I'm wasting my time, the preachers and priests are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all". This started a real controversy in the "Letters to the Editor" column. Much to the delight of the editor, it went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher: "I've been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I do know this: They all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!" As the day breaks The earth quakes My mind awakes As the sun overlays Radiates The clouds they dissipate But where is our joy If with every breathe We do not thank? We do not pray? Simply being is not enough to stay And the skies they turn gray The wind rolling us away Like a leaf we crunch we crumble Letting the weather dictate our place As the seasons change Our fate we face Can we seek to find happiness in the most simple of things? The way the earth quakes The mountains move They rumble They shake As that sound of His most high His glorious name Yet, we are belittled by the most mundane Letting this world bellow and bay As a donkey seeking shelter A warm place to lay and lay down we may But will we get up as the sun rises the next day? As long as I am alive From my lips I will sing your praise As honey that drips Sweet freedom The sail of my ship Take my wails Take my woes Take my from my enemies My foes And place my feet firmly Upon the place You call home & from there forever my joy be bestowed -Abigail Rice For more from our author visit instagram.com/ajourney2life Faith-Filled FridayMay the true gifts of the season guide you to and through the New Year…
From our hearts to yours, Merry Christmas! CPM-TCU Thursday's Truthful HumorThanks for joining me for a bit of truthful humor this Christmas Eve😊
Santa lives at the North Pole. JESUS is everywhere. Santa rides in a sleigh JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water. Santa comes but once a year JESUS is an ever present help. Santa fills your stockings with goodies JESUS supplies all your needs. Santa comes down your chimney uninvited JESUS stands at your door and knocks.. and then enters your heart. You have to stand in line to see Santa JESUS is as close as the mention of His name. Santa lets you sit on his lap JESUS lets you rest in His arms. Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is "Hi little boy or girl, What's your name?" JESUS knew our name before we did, and He knows our past, present and future Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly JESUS has a heart full of love. All Santa can offer is HO HO HO JESUS offers health, help and hope. Santa says "You better not cry" JESUS says "Cast all your cares on me for I care for you. Santa's little helpers make toys JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions. Santa may make you chuckle but JESUS gives you joy that is your strength. While Santa puts gifts under your tree JESUS became our gift and died on the tree. It is our prayer that the words created by her in this poem will soothe your soul and help you celebrate The Reason for this season, no matter what your political beliefs.
Twas Just Nights before Christmas Twas just nights before Christmas throughout all the nations God’s children everywhere were still receiving a shaking Things were so uncertain in almost every way Masks and shutdowns for too many a day Covid 19 was running rampant and wild A flue on steroids, there could be no denial It wasn’t just attacking one’s physical life But there was a lot of emotional and spiritual strife In the beginning, compliance was to flatten the curves Weeks turned to months and shook up our nerves The death toll was rising, they claimed all Covid-related But time was proving that that could be debated Suddenly, suicide, domestic violence and abuse Rose higher than Covid, people thought “what’s the use?” We’ve kept open Wall-Mart, grocery stores, abortion clinics too But we’ve closed the gyms and churches; we didn’t know what to do How could they take away our coping mechanisms Destroy small businesses and steal our freedoms As the weeks turned into months many pastors concurred To return to corporate worship and preaching the Word Now children, now parents, now all you believers Now houses of worship, don’t be among the deceivers There’s a job to be done, set your differences aside Salvation needs to be spread to everyone alive Don’t get caught in any political debate Fight this fight on your knees before it’s too late What you see unfolding before your very eyes Has been in the making for years, you must realize As each new day will bring another revelation Of fraud and wrong doing; it will seem unending All forms of media will sell fear, not facts Making it near impossible to just breathe and relax As more and more facts come out to the light Remember it’s your faith to put in this fight It’s really not about who will be your next president But gathering my children to me that takes precedent I am a righteous God with true integrity I will not participate in and with animosity So please rise up with your God-given potential Your faith in this battle is oh so essential So as this season comes upon all My creation Please don’t get caught up in worldly sensation Focus on Me, your source of joy and laughter Until I come to take you into the ever after Tell apathy, anxiety, pride, and resentment too They can no longer have any power over you And while you may feel you’re in the fight of your life Remember, I’m Righteous, with Me there is no strife Come to me, any who are heavy laden and need rest My Father’s solution will prove to be the best All of this has not knocked us off our throne I’ll never leave or forsake you, you are not alone You can only experience these truths as reality When you come every day to spend time with Me Read My promises, and memorize them, too They will calm your fears, and share My love for you So during this season, and through the New Year too Remember My grace is sufficient for you! May these truths allay any of your fears now and throughout the New Year Love, Kim-Evinda Tuesday's Truthful HumorOnce upon a time, a perfect man and a perfect woman met. After a perfect courtship, they had a perfect wedding. Their life was, of course "perfect."
One snowy, stormy Christmas Eve, this perfect couple was driving their perfect car (a SUV) along a winding road, when they noticed someone at the side of the road in distress. Being the perfect couple they stopped to help. There stood Santa Claus with a huge bundle of toys. Not wanting to disappoint any children on the eve of Christmas, the perfect couple loaded Santa and his toys into their vehicle. Soon they were driving along delivering the toys. Unfortunately, the driving conditions deteriorated and the perfect couple and Santa Claus had an accident. Only one of them survived the accident. Who was the survivor? The perfect woman survived. She's the only one who really existed in the first place. Everyone knows there is no Santa Claus and there is no such thing as a perfect man. So, if there is no perfect man and no Santa Claus, the perfect woman must have been driving. This explains why there was an accident. Ahh in other words, no one is perfect…except the perfector of our faith, Jesus Christ, the son of God…the reason for this season. and a marriage A birth and a miscarriage Life throws darts and we are never truly ready When that push button ignites The engine starts Starting within Something new Something grand Something we may not be able to grasp just yet and will we ever If we never begin? For what is ours Is also His Every burden Every sin The weight of world Fleeting like the wind and where are our hearts? Buried deep into the sand Tangled in earth Stuck on dry land The picture we see A beginning No end That first futile step As a baby stumbles And gets back up again No fear and no doubt Ready to move forward Regardless of the fallout and where is our faith? As we grumble No praise Not seeing that today Is a glorious day This time that we live in A generation of no limits So let us reach beyond That daunting mountain top and when we fight to reach that peak Let us pray Let us sing! Because this life dear friend Is a sweet and fragile thing So let us be free Our words scintillating Always ready for more No matter what lies behind the open door Love, Abigail Rice For more from our author visit instagram.com/ajourney2life Faith-Filled FridayWow, in a time of fear-driven media seeping through the homes everywhere, this is a timely love letter from the heart of our Father thru Debra to you and me.
Thanks for joining us for Faith-Filled Friday with Debra Dolce and Trench Classes United. May any False Expectation Appearing Real turn your focus upward. Love Letter~ My precious child, do not yield to fear for I am always near. Never turn your gaze from Me, for I am your faithful God. I will infuse you with My strength and help you in every situation. I will hold you firmly with My victorious right hand. What good promises I have for My children. When you are in times of uncertainty I continually speak, "Here I am!" Believe Me and you will have rest in every battle. I have taught you all through the Scriptures how to war in the Spirit. Do not think, "Oh, what will be will be." Do not be an idle soldier, but dig your heels in and fight for truth-My truth. The world is full of people saying things are true, but they're the opposite of My Word. Do you spend enough time in My Word to know when someone is speaking untruths or mistruths? The enemy deceives by mixing a little truth wrapped around lies. Do not be lulled to sleep but always be at the ready for you must war for truth. Beloved, come each day and spend time in My Presence that peace may rule in your heart, even in the midst of chaos. ~DebraDolce |
