Wednesday Word She stopped journaling, allowing her heart and mind to be quiet, to be still…and then the explosive revelation happened.
Thanks for joining us for Wednesday’s Word with Kim-Evinda and Trench Classes United. How many of us go about our day leaving God on the “shelf” of our heart, versus inviting Him into the middle of it all? Today’s blog reminds us of a truthful principle that Jesus Himself spoke to Peter, and to us, all those years ago. She had read Luke 16:23 as part of a study but all week, it kept coming back to her with new meaning. Memories of disagreements long ago with her husband came to the surface and she smiled, remembering how they had used these powerful words to insult the other and to quash the disagreement: “Satan get behind me!” She smiled again realizing now that those words usually insighted more anger, at least in her. Today, these words served as a reminder that the enemy loves fighting. But that wasn’t the whole verse; only one part of it. It was the last part of it that caught her attention and held it all week, especially as she thought about interactions with others. She continued to read: “You are an offense to me for you are not mindful of the things of God but of men.” So many of us base our thoughts, opinions, and decisions on what makes us happy, but what about the spiritual piece, the things, thoughts, and ways of God? It was like Jesus was speaking these words to her today, reminding her that she was on the right track and her heart was in the right place. They were like salve to her aching soul, beautiful weapons for her spiritual artillery as she continued in the battle called life and marriage. He reminded her that many are sent to divide, and even some closest to us, although unbeknownst to them, but to include the spiritual piece of the puzzle in this season and to focus on the promises given, that was the road to victory. Once again, she jumped into the Father’s arms, letting go and letting Him have all of her life. How about you, friend, is there something happening in your life that needs you to be mindful of God’s perspective? Ask Him to reveal it to you and He will. It is in relationship with Him that we find strength for the journey, no matter what or who comes into it. Love, Kim-Evinda

Tuesday Truthful Humour Thanks for joining me for Tuesday’s Truthful Humour, a time for a little giggle and some truth, too.
At the construction site, this young and strong guy was bragging that he could outdo anyone when it came to acts of physical strength. He made a special case of making fun of Morris, one of the older workmen who had been with the construction company for a long, long time. After several days of this, Morris had enough and challenged the younger guy: "Why don't you put your money where your mouth is?" he said. "I will bet a week's wages that I can haul something in a wheelbarrow over to that outbuilding that you won't be able to wheel back." "You're on, old man," the young guy replied. "It's a bet! Let's see what you got." Morris reached out and grabbed the wheelbarrow by the handles. Then, nodding to the young man, he said, "All right. Get in." Oh, my goodness, the old guy outwitted the young guy for sure! How do you keep your mind and body active?
