Monday Message Have you ever watched a battlefield scene in a movie and found yourself
rooting for a certain character, or a certain group of characters? Thanks so much for joining us for Monday’s Message with Abigail Rice and Trench Classes United. Today’s poetic message I can just hear in a sort of rap song, reminds us that the mind is a battlefield but…When we look up and remember Who can lead us to victory, we can make our escape…safely. Messy heart Messy home Where is my abode? Where is my love? My light that once shone? I no longer know and I pray and I seek Trying to believe In that girl I used to be But no longer is she Dead and gone Sayonara So long For this isn’t a fairy song But a battle that rages on Tired For so long So tired So wrong Buried deep In the day to day Forgetting the reason I even pray Giving up Giving in To pockets of bliss Momentary sin As I tear down this temple of His No longer a place the Holy Spirit desires to live At least that’s what i tell myself As my mind races and spins From confusion To doubt To anger and shouts What is this even for or about? I give up I give in Down on my knees Praying again For something other than this cup I’ve been given and I look up at the full moon in the sky Shining bright no matter the hour of the night and wonder why? Phasing through every season and cycle of life It still shines Because it’s gift Is light Not power or might But simply to shine Reminding us all That our God is the God that holds time Nothing on this earth Of value or of worth Has ever been mine But given to me By the One True Vine For He is all power All glory All might Loving me still through This dark cloud covered nights “And I thought how [gloriously and honorably] I would set you among My children and give you a pleasant land, a goodly heritage, the most beautiful and best [inheritance] among all the nations! And I thought you would call Me My Father and would not turn away from Me…A voice is heard on the bare heights, the weeping and pleading of the sons of Israel, because they have perverted their ways, they have [eagerly] forgotten the Lord their God. Return, O faithless sons, [says the Lord, and] I will heal your faithlessness. [And they answer] Behold, we come to You, for You are the Lord our God.” - Jeremiah 3:19,21-22
