In Whom do you rest?

Monday's Message

In moments of despair
In times of distress
In whom do we find rest?

When our souls are put to the test
Do we look up & realize 
We are beyond blessed?

Or do we look down 
As we wail and we drown 
In a seemingly endless sea 
Of turmoil & false press
Are you truly doing your best? 

Or are you sulking on 
As the world screams 'yes'
Yes, you should have it all
No matter the cost 
No matter the reach

But when the line between a want & a need 
A desire & a dream 
Fades away 
And we no longer radiate 
Does our world crumble & shatter 
As we slowly dissipate?

Merging into the breeze 
Of a life so simple 
So at ease 
Yet, all we see is a constant taunt 
A voidless tease 

& when that dam breaks 
& the earth begins to shake 
All we've ever known 
In this so called American dream 
Quickly begins to release

As we sat on empty promises 
Our hearts may long to 
But don't truly belong to Him
Until you can say 
I gave it all away 
For His love 
For this day 
He has prepared my way 
& I desire no earthly gain 
Simply to be 
To breathe 
Life again carried on His feathers 
& under His wings 
No longer living in a false reality 
But in never ending praise 
As we dance and we sing
Worshiping His name 
For Your love, my life will I bring

 “How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God!
And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; 
And you give them to drink of the river of Your delights. 
For with You is the fountain of life; 
In Your light we see light. 
O continue Your lovingkindness to the upright in heart. 
Let not the foot of pride come upon me, 
And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.”
