The final page of 2019 has turned and here we are, the first day of 2020, a brand new year.
Each new year, I like to ask God for a word that I can carry with me, every day, throughout the new year. He didn’t let me down; in fact, before I could even ask, He planted this word in my mind…”mindful.”
“The quality or state of being conscious or aware of something; a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings andthoughts.”
This year, I want to put my energy into being “mindful”…of His presence around me and within me.
This year, I want to be more mindful of others’ needs and prayer requests. This will help me take my focus from inward to upward.
This year, I want to be more mindful to show love and appreciation to my husband…even when he doesn’t deserve it.
This year, I want to be more mindful in my giving of my time, talents and treasures, that they would be given whole-heartedly, mindfully
This year, I want to be more mindful of my relationship with Jesus, because that one relationship will guide me in all other relationships.
Being “mindful” will help me live in the moments instead of watching them pass me by!
What about you, what’s your word for this new year?
