Monday Message Are you waiting for an answer or direction? How is it that you’re waiting?
Thanks for joining us for Monday’s Message with Abigail Rice and Trench Classes United. Today’s poem is a great reminder of how to wait in faith. Where this season ends And the next one begins Is truly the lingering question As we linger in this season of waiting And believing How do we wait intentionally How do we believe in the quiet that it’s His voice that speaks? For our King has come and bestowed such a gift A gift that maybe hasn’t been opened yet Holy Spirit I invite you here Remove all guilt Remove all fear If you led me here then let these words be true Let these words be yours Let Your Spirit move If Jesus’ sole purpose here on earth was to bring us the Truth Then we must come to know and recognize the Truth For those who know the Truth hear and listen to His Voice (John 18:37) & I think that’s what I struggle with the most Maybe what a lot of us do Trusting in and relying on our own voice Or letting it tear us down all the same When it's just our silly hearts Our broken hearts to blame So how do we get quiet? How do we get still? How do we listen and know what is God’s good and perfect will? Even when i have the time to sit and be still My mind races In disbelief Confused about what the voices speak My conscience gets the best of me… Making me believe That what I hear is blasphemy Who am I to be called? Who am I to live this life? When I can’t even settle my mind To listen and hear Or believe at all that what i hear is the Truth When lies flood in And we drown in this pool… Of darkness & disbelief Where do we go? Where do we turn? The answer is clear The answer is there His Word It stands The Truth Never bends Reassuring us & making us aware His presence is never far His Spirit is always near & when my conscience condemns I listen & I repent Inviting His Spirit in To remind me once again His grace It never ends & His Truth dwells within “By this we shall come to know (perceive, recognize, and understand) that we are of the Truth, and can reassure (quiet, conciliate, and pacify) our hearts in His presence, whenever our hearts in [tormenting] self-accusation make us feel guilty and condemn us. [For we are in God’s hands.] For He is above and greater than our consciences (our hearts), and He knows (perceives and understands) everything [nothing is hidden from Him]. And, beloved, if our consciences (our hearts) do not accuse us [if they do not make us feel guilty and condemn us], we have confidence (complete assurance and boldness) before God, And we receive from Him whatever we ask, because we [watchfully] obey His orders [observe His suggestions and injunctions, follow His plan for us] and [habitually] practice what is pleasing to Him. And this is His order (His command, His injunction): that we should believe in (put our faith and trust in and adhere to and rely on) the name of His Son Jesus Christ (the Messiah), and that we should love one another, just as He has commanded us. All who keep His commandments [who obey His orders and follow His plan, live and continue to live, to stay and] abide in Him, and He in them. They let Christ be a home to them and they are the home of Christ.] And by this we know and understand and have the proof that He [really] lives and makes His home in us: by the [Holy] Spirit Whom He has given us.” - 1 John 3:19-24 “Pilate said to Him, Then You are a King? Jesus answered, You say it! [You speak correctly!] For I am a King. [Certainly I am a King!] This is why I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the Truth. Everyone who is of the Truth [who is a friend of the Truth, who belongs to the Truth] hears and listens to My voice.” - John 18:37
